City Mattress is a reputable family-owned mattress and furniture retailer offering quality products, exquisite customer service, and a culture of honesty and integrity. The lead home delivery driver will work out of our warehouse in Batavia and will deliver and set up furniture in customer homes and in our City Mattress stores. We are looking for individuals who want to make a difference, who enjoy going the extra mile to satisfy the customer, who are ready to work and want to be part of a winning team. We offer promotions for individuals with a great work ethic and a positive "can do" attitude!

  • Work in our warehouse and perform in-home and in-store deliveries
  • Be able to lift at least 75 pounds
  • Deliver and set up mattresses/furniture
  • Be customer service oriented
  • Clean driving record preferred
  • Drive a 26' straight truckBe able to assemble furniture
  • Be a self-starter and highly motivated individual that needs minimal supervision
  • Be a team playerBe able to work a flexible schedule including evenings, weekends and holidays

Requirements

  • Prior driver/warehouse experience is a plus. Good customer service skills is a requirement. City Mattress offers a family friendly work environment along with a competitive benefits package. Paid lunch, paid time off, employee discounts, uniform shirts provided.

Qualifications and Skills

  • 2+ years of experience in high end sales, preferably in retail 
  • Professional demeanor and presentation 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Proficiency with assistive technology (tablets, POS system, CRM) 
  • A flexible schedule is ideal as our retail hours include evenings, weekends, and holidays

Field Visual Merchandise Coordinator

The Field Visual Merchandise Coordinator will play a pivotal role in ensuring consistent and compelling visual merchandising standards across all stores. Reporting directly to the Furniture Merchandising Manager, this
position requires a blend of creativity, organizational skills, and a strong understanding of retail operations. The ideal candidate will excel in training
and communication, while also possessing the ability to develop innovative strategies to enhance the brand aesthetic within stores.

Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Oversee the coordination of all visual merchandising standards within stores, ensuring alignment with brand guidelines.
  • Develop comprehensive training tools for field merchants and retail store staff to uphold visual merchandising standards.
  • Manage the development and implementation of
    new systems to improve visual merchandising standards and workflow
    efficiency.
  • Actively communicate with the Furniture Merchandising Manager and VP of Merchandising to convey store needs and plans for visual rollouts.
  • Maintain and uphold the brand aesthetic within
    stores, ensuring consistency across all locations.
  • Assist in the creation and launch of seasonal directives for stores, incorporating creative and strategic input.
  • Cultivate and maintain relationships with 3rd
    party vendors to coordinate visual assets for stores.
  • Manage project scheduling needs for the department and maintain the overall visual merchandising calendar for field merchants.
  • Collect and analyze feedback from retail teams
    on visual needs, implementing necessary adjustments.
  • Collaborate with the merchandising and sales teams to generate reports and conduct analysis to identify trends and
    opportunities.
  • Attend visual meetings and training sessions to
    stay updated on best practices and industry trends.
  • Conduct weekly visits to local stores, collaborating closely with field merchants and managers to provide support as needed.
  • Travel as required for merchandising flips and
    new store openings, ensuring consistent implementation of visual
    standards.
  • Manage merchandising planning process and
    product mapping for stores, optimizing product placement for maximum
    impact.
  • Oversee primary and secondary fixture needs
    within stores, including ordering and maintenance.
  • Complete accurate and timely reporting and
    paperwork, such as store visit reports, weekly recaps, expense reports, and time tracking documents.
  • Provide ongoing product expertise and support
    to the sales organization, as well as internal and external customers.
  • Develop professional working relationships with
    sales associates and management at all levels, efficiently.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Field Merchandiser or similar position in the retail environment.
  • Proficiency in AutoCAD and Canva.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and analytics tools, including Excel spreadsheets, formulas, reporting, and retail math.
  • Ability to perform physical tasks such as standing, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach and train peers effectively.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Innovative thinker and problem solver.
  • Experience with planogramming and recommending product
    placement is a plus.
  • Ability to travel as needed to suit the business needs.
