In 1963, founder Jay Schiller opened his first City Mattress location in Buffalo, NY with a handful of mattresses and one guiding principle, treat people the way you want to be treated. Some 45 years and 20 stores later, that premise is truer than ever.

After opening several locations in the Buffalo area, City Mattress expanded east into the Rochester area and then like many from the north, moved to sunny Florida in the early 90's. Showrooms were opened along Florida's southwest coast and then throughout the greater West Palm Beach area on Florida's eastern coast.

Today, City Mattress reigns supreme as one of the finest and most respected mattress and bedroom furniture retailers in New York and Florida. Year after year, satisfied customers continue to return to City Mattress for all their sleep needs and comfortably refer their families and friends. The firm continues to be a family company with sons Stephen and Marc at the helm.
