About Adjustable Beds

At City Mattress, we carry adjustable beds from PranaSleep, Serta, Cariloha, Dawn House, Boyd Sleep, Tempur-Pedic, iComfort, and our very own City Mattress brand. We have adjustable bases in a full range of sizes so you can find the adjustable bed that is perfect for you. Adjustable base foundations allow you to sit or sleep in ergonomic positions by raising the head and/or foot of the bed. Whether you’re in bed reading, watching your favorite movie, or sleeping, you’ll be in the perfect position to maximize comfort.

Our Adjustable Bed Options

We have beds to serve your every need. Our City Mattress brand adjustable beds have a press-and-hold-flat button so whenever you’re ready to sleep, it’s easy to go from any position to lying flat. Tempur-Pedic’s adjustable base can raise the head of the bed up to 70 degrees and raise the foot up to 40 degrees. It can also save up to two pre-set ergonomic positions. Serta’s Motion Custom II Adjustable Bed Base can connect to your phone so you can use Serta’s SleepGPS with Sleeptracker Technology. The SleepGPS monitors and improves your sleep by tracking heart rate, breathing and body movement. The Motion Custom II Adjustable Bed Base is also equipped with pre-set positions, 90-degree head tilt support, adjustable lumbar support, and a six-level massage system. Some of the adjustable beds we carry are also dual control, which means they allow different angles of adjustment on either side of the bed. These are just a few examples of the many features City Mattress has available with adjustable bed bases.

Learn More About Adjustable Beds

An adjustable bed is a foundation for your mattress which can be moved to a number of different positions. Common adjustments include inclining the upper body and raising the lower body. This is done with a remote control.

An adjustable bed base makes it more comfortable to sleep or relax in bed, but that's not all. It has real health benefits. Adjustable beds can help reduce acid reflux, back pain, pain caused by arthritis, sleep apnea, and more.

If you suffer from sleep apnea or restless leg syndrome, an adjustable bed can help alleviate these problems. Adjustable beds are a lifestyle bed and not always used for medical reasons. They're incredibly comfortable, especially if youre watching tv or reading in bed.

Many people say yes! They can be used to read in bed, watch TV or work on your laptop. It is like having a recliner in your bedroom. In addition to being able to raise and lower the head and feet of the bed, it can provide you with a gentle timed massage. Adjustable beds can have built-in sleep monitors, USB ports, speakers, and under-bed lighting.

Resting in this position will alleviate strain on your legs and lower back. Some adjustable bed bases, like the PranaSleep EuroSlat PowerBase, bring you to this position at the press of a button. On others, you'll need to raise both the head and the leg portion of the mattress until you reach it.

Your adjustable bed base will come with a small metal piece that is put at the bottom "foot" part of the bed to keep it from sliding. The delivery people who set up your bed will put it on. Raising the legs a bit at the same time as the head also stops it from sliding.

Regular sheets are meant to stay flat and tucked under the mattress. This may become an issue if you use an adjustable bed base. You need to find deep-pocketed fitted sheets, sheets with elastic straps, or sheet fasteners to keep your sheet on an adjustable bed.

Yes, they do! Elevating your head on an adjustable bed base enables the air to flow more freely and reduces the vibrations that we know as snoring.

An adjustable bed is great for side sleepers because it can elevate your upper body into a more comfortable and relaxed position where your knees are relaxed and that there is less pressure on your shoulders, hips, and neck. In addition, you may find you like to raise the head portion to read or watch tv before you fall asleep.

Check under the bed base to verify that the wired connections are secure and that there are no cords or bedding obstructing the movement of the base. Also, plug the bed base into a different electrical outlet as well as test the current outlet with another working appliance. If you can't figure it out, contact City Mattress and let us know you're experiencing a problem. Many times, your adjustable bed base is under warranty and we can fix or replace the issue.

Just like with our mattress, the best adjustable bed base is a personal choice. We have options that do much more than raise your head and legs! For example, Serta’s Motion Custom II Adjustable Bed Base can connect to your phone so you can use Serta’s SleepGPS with Sleeptracker Technology. The Serta Motion Custom II Adjustable Bed Base is equipped with pre-set positions, 90-degree head tilt support, adjustable lumbar support, and a six-level massage system. The PranaSleep EuroSlat PowerBase features a zero gravity button, gentle alarm, massage, and more.
