Sealy Mattresses

About Sealy

In 1881, a cotton-gin builder named Daniel Haynes started making cotton-filled mattresses for friends. Based in Sealy, TX, Mr. Haynes invented a machine that compressed cotton in 1889. Soon he licensed the machine to others to make cotton-filled mattresses with the name “mattresses from Sealy.”

In 1950, Sealy invented Posturepedic Technology, which placed targeted support in the middle third of their mattresses. This innovation provided unrivaled support for the lower back and hips, where 50 percent of a sleeper’s weight rests. This critical support system for the core and back made Sealy and Posturepedic household names. For more on Sealy’s history, see our blog post on the brand.

Learn More About Sealy Mattresses - FAQ

For back pain sufferers, support is critical. All Sealy mattresses feature a strong support layer of innovative coils. However, the comfort layers vary by model. Many back sleepers prefer a firmer mattress for back pain, but everyone is different. The best way to choose the right Sealy mattress for your back pain is to try a few in our store.

With a 10 year warranty, Sealy is confident that your mattress will last for years to come. By rotating your mattress every 6-12 months, you can further ensure a longer mattress life by evening out the wear.

All Sealy mattresses are built in the USA. Furthermore, each mattress is rigorously tested for quality, comfort, and support.

Sealy’s mattresses are beyond good. Their Posturepedic Technology puts extra targeted support where it’s needed most: the middle third of the mattress. This helps to deliver maximum support to your lower back, core, and hips.

Of course! All of our Sealy Mattresses are adjustable-friendly, meaning they can be used with adjustable bed base.

Most modern mattresses, including those from Sealy, are not made to be flipped. However, you can rotate your mattress every 6-12 months to extend your mattress’s life and promote even wear across the mattress surface.
