Bed in a Box

Unlike traditional mattresses, which are sold and delivered in “ready to sleep” form, a Bed in a Box is exactly what it sounds like. It is a mattress made of a type of foam, compressed, and rolled up so it can be conveniently shipped in a box.

No, a box spring is not required. You can place your mattress directly atop the platform bed itself. This will give your mattress the proper support, preserve its lifespan, and lower the profile height.

First, lay the box on the floor. Then, remove the mattress from the box. Next, unroll the mattress, and place it on a foundation or directly on the bed. Remove the inner bag and position your mattress. Make any final adjustments, and you're all finished. It doesn’t get any easier!

We don't recommend putting your mattress directly on the floor. Purchase your favorite platform bed and headboard, then place your Bed in a Box mattress directly on it. An adjustable bed base is also an excellent foundation option, since you get customized sleep at a touch of a button.

You'll want to open the mattress as soon as it arrives to keep its structural integrity intact. Some manufacturers will recommend that you don't exceed one week, while others will go as far as to say that you can keep it in its box for up to two months.

Always follow the care label for specific cleaning directions. However, generally speaking, most mattress covers can be machine-washed in warm water and tumbled on low to dry.

Just like a traditional mattress, you can get your bed in a box mattress in several sizes. You can get a Twin, Twin XL, Full, Queen, King, or California King. The dimensions for each will be identical to a traditional mattress of the same size.
